Conference Translation and the Periodical
The conference ‘Translation and the Periodical’ will be hosted from 13-15 September 2023 at Ghent University in Belgium. The event is a collaborative effort between Ghent University and partners at Uppsala University, NUI Galway, University of Tartu and the University of the Basque Country.

Literature Ireland Summer Translation Workshops
From June 28 to July 2, 2023, Literature Ireland is hosting a series of Summer Workshops in Literary Translation. The workshops will be held via Zoom and are open to literary translators and postgraduate students in literary translation. The English-Dutch workshops will be taught by Caroline Meijer and Jeske van der Velden.

ESLT Summer School – Teaching Translation as an Ethical Practice
From the 5th to the 8th of September 2023 the VII edition of the European School of Literary Translation will take place, organized by PETRA-E network, British Centre for Literary Translation, Centre of Expertise for Literary Translation (Flanders/Netherlands) and Fondazione Unicampus San Pellegrino (Italy). This Summer School is aimed at anyone who is interested in teaching literary translation, and this year’s theme is Teaching Translation as an Ethical Practice.

Workshop Hilde Keteleer
On April 27 (3pm-5pm), literary translator Hilde Keteleer will give a workshop on the Dutch translation of Marta und Arthur (Katja Schönherr) at the VUB, in room PL.11.1.60 (Pleinlaan 11, 1050 Brussels).
Lecture Trijne Vermunt
On May 4 (1pm -3pm), Dutch translator Trijne Vermunt will give a lecture on the translation of Spanish prose at the VUB (Room E.3.07).
Lecture Jan de Jager
On April 20 (1pm-3pm), Jan de Jager, Argentine-Dutch translator of Ezra Pound and other poets, will give a lecture at the VUB (Room E.3.07) on the translation of poetry.
