Brecht de Groote

Brecht de Groote is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ghent, where he pursues a project on late-Romantic translatorship in Britain and beyond. He previously held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Edinburgh and Leuven, and has a monograph forthcoming with Edinburgh University Press, Thomas De Quincey, Dark Interpreter: Romanticism in Translation. His work has appeared in Studies in Romanticism, the European Journal of English Studies, and the European Romantic Review, amongst other venues. He is currently working towards a second book on late style, minority, and historiography as it intersects with acts of translation. His research interests include theory of translation, media history, literary theory, and critical infrastructure studies.
