Ilse Logie

Ilse Logie obtained her PhD in 1997 with a dissertation entitled La omnipresencia de la mímesis en la obra de Manuel Puig at the University of Antwerp. From 1986 to 2005 she  was affiliated to the Department of Translation Studies HIVT (University of Antwerp) and was also active as a literary critic. She has been teaching Latin-American literature at Ghent University since October 2005. Her main research areas are Latin-American literature, with a special focus on the representation of violence in Argentina and Chile, as well as translation issues, more particularly multilingualism and (self)translation as principles of identity construction in a corpus of Spanish and Latin-American writers. From 2008 until 2014 she was president of the Association Research Group Literatuur in Vertaling. She is a member of the editorial staff of Filter, Tijdschrift over vertalen and of the Advisory Board of Linguistica Antverpiensia. Themes in Translation Studies.
