Charlotte Bollaert

Charlotte Bollaert has been working as a teaching and research assistant in the Russian section of the department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication (Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Ghent University) since April 2015. She obtained a master of arts in Translation in 2014 and also holds a master’s degree in Eastern European Languages and Cultures (2015), both from Ghent University. She spent a semester in Russia, obtained an Erasmus Mundus grant to study in Belarus for one semester, taught English in Russia during an internship and also interned for a translation company in the UK. During her first degree, she developed an interest in the reception of translated Western literature in Russia. Her PhD lies in the same line as her earlier bachelor and master theses, and treats of the Russian reception of Jean-Paul Sartre. The project is being carried out under the supervision of Piet Van Poucke and Guy Rooryck.
