Sophie Decroupet is a researcher in the fields of museum, translation, and memory studies. In 2025, she defended her PhD thesis, titled “Translating Nature in the Museum: Memorial Practices in Exhibitions about the Environmental Crisis”, at Ghent University. Her research focuses on how recent practices in natural history museums signal a shift from natural history to environmental memory in response to the environmental crisis. She has published several articles on museum translation and is the co-editor of the special issue “Museums as Spaces of Cultural Translation and Transfer” (Babel, together with Irmak Mertens). She holds master’s degrees in museum studies and art history, and has professional experience in museums and galleries.
