Ping Liang is a PhD student in applied linguistics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel since Oct 2015. She is doing research on the project Understanding China’s Voice on the Global Stage: A Study of Target-Oriented Translation of Chinese Official Discourse in the Belt and Road Initiative. Ping obtained her MA degree (2013) in English Language and Literature at Sichuan University, China. She studied Literature and film at State University of New York, USA from 2008 to 2009, and EU studies at the Faculty of Political Science at Ghent University from 2011 to 2012. Her research interests are political translation, discourse and power, cultural identity and nation-building.
